We had our first business trip to Abuja, capital of Nigeria, from the 24th to the 27th of July 2018. This trip was fully prepared and led by Mr. Samuel Mpouma, our representative in Abuja, for us to meet major healthcare stakeholders in Nigeria.

During their stay, Roland Loos, one of our board members, and Achille Othenin-Girard, our Quality Manager, had the chance to present the SterOx System to the Federal Capital Territory Health and Human Service Secretariat (FCT HHSS) and to attend the EPISON 7th Annual Scientific Conference and General Meeting. All the positive feedback and the general enthusiasm we felt are a great motivation in pursuing our goal to have a lasting impact on infection control.

We are excited about this new adventure and impatient to see where this great opportunity will take us!

[EN] We are proud to announce that we received the ISO 13485:2016 certification for medical device quality management, a key step in obtaining our CE marking.

In achieving this compliance with standards, we have demonstrated that we have the ability to manufacture and design a medical device in a rigorous, reliable, safe, and efficient way. The ISO 13485:2016 is an endorsement of the Quality Management System (QMS) that officially underpins SteriLux as a manufacturer of medical device. This accreditation is recognized internationally and is a critical part of gaining regulatory approval for our products to enter the market.

We are confident that this important milestone will strengthen our company and help us achieve our goal to revolutionize the sterilization of medical instruments.

After more than 3 years of research and development, we took another major step forward concerning our sterilization technology! The first surgery was performed with a sterile set that was sterilized by our medical device. The African expedition We Care Cameroon will operate more than 12 patients this week and we are happy to be a part of this adventure.

It is a great reward and recognition for our team to win the Design Preis Schweiz in the category "RADO Star Prize for Young Talents"! Our CEO Marc Spaltenstein and Jordane Vernet went to the awards ceremony in Langenthal last Friday.

Comment by the jury: It is a truism that the success of surgical interventions is depending on the use of sterile instruments. It is less well known that in some regions of the world this causes considerable problems. Thus, a group of scientists is developing a completely innovative method of sterilisation, which can be used even in difficult external circumstances. They were seeking the input from designers at an early stage, to give the equipment associated with the method a user-friendly form. This is a clever move, which makes a crucial contribution to the success of the project and cannot be overstated. Developed by the joint efforts of a team, the SteriLux system has impressed the jury right across the board, and has deserved an award from Design Prize Switzerland if for no other reason than that it helps to save human lives.
